Silverbird’s Rhythm FM presents an unprecedented hip hop radio experience – The Freestyle Fury challenging Vector Tha Viper to the longest, live on radio, freestyle rap in Nigeria.
This August, one of Nigeria’s most profilic rappers and arguably the king of freestyle rap, Vector Tha Viper, will set a new record for the longest freestyle on live radio.
The challenge will not only see Vector rapping non stop, but will also feature talented budding rappers battling for an ultimate prize and various consolation prizes including beats from a star producer, a Verse from Vector himself, one month radio promotion on the Rhythm network and other amazing prizes.

About Rhythm Freestyle Fury
The Rhythm Freestyle Fury is a quarterly event where we challenge artists to different musical feats centered on hip-hop. For this inaugural event (season 1), we are challenging Vector to the longest Freestyle rap on Live radio in Africa. This event will be happening at the Rhythm studio and broadcast on our network simultaneously on radio and TV. It’s the first of its kind!
It’s also going to be streamed to a global audience via our rhythm website – www.rhythm937.com/live. And also on Periscope. We shall also be catering to an audience in Silverbird galleria. Free drinks and fun games will be available. Viewers in the galleria will get to see live tweets from round the world as they happen – right on the screen to be installed at the galleria.
The event itself is going to be very interactive as we would be throwing words at vector from a national audience which will be sent in via tweets and SMS. We will be giving prizes for the most creative words. Our celebrity panel consisting of JAJ da Meccadon, Elajoe and Jimmy Jatt are to ensure that the set rules are maintained. Lacing the beats will be top veteran DJ’s – DJ Tommy, DJ Humility and DJ Sose.
The audience is not left out. Four (4) upcoming rappers will have the chance to share the spotlight on the day as they lyrically battle for our top prize – Rhythm Artist of the month which comes with massive air play for a minimum of one month; a chance to work with a top producer, Licious Crackitt; a watch courtesy “Swatch” and other prizes!!
