Diamond Bank Unveils New Identity

As part of its initiatives to consolidate its market leadership in the banking sector, Diamond bank plc has unveiled a new identity logo in Lagos.

The bank has in the last few months undertaken a number of initiatives as an organization to ensure it perform optimally and has undertaken a large scale overhaul of its visual identity comprising its logo, brand colour, as the most important element of the renewed spirit behind its customer service delivery.

The new identity will help the bank to consolidate its current market leadership in the retail banking sector, Alex Otti, managing director said.

Meanwhile, the bank will in the next three years expand its branch network to 300 across the country.

Currently the bank has about 223 locations across the continent, 18 in Benue Republic and 180 branches in Togo and Senegal.

According to him, the introduction of this new identity heralds a new beginning in the bank’s performance as a corporate organization. This is evidenced by the bank’s recent performance which has seen Diamond bank continually post improved result quarter on quarter since the beginning of this year.

In view of this, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) has invested$70 million as convertible equity this has also been followed by Afreximbank that has given the bank a $100 million long term investment.

“Essentially, we have chosen to embark on this brand refresh in order to facilitate our goal of being one of the leading banks in the country. Our new identity will equally help us to consolidate our current market leadership in the retail banking sector.

Going by the nature of this market, there is a need to remain visible both in the local and global market. This explains why we have elected for a brighter brand, colour and incorporated the same into our logo”, he said.

Otti believes that the rebranding exercise which the bank has embarked upon will enhance the bank’s performance to become active player in the banking field.

“This exercise will equally give our customer service delivery greater impetus as we have incorporated elements that will enable us render unparallel service”, he said.
