In a ranking result released on Thursday by Millward Brown a leading global reasearch company, Bharti Airtel which operates in over 20 countries in Africa and in Asia was put amongst the top 100 brands in the world.
Ranked 71 with a brand value of $1.5 billion Airtel came ahead of big companies like Citi Group (82), Sony (86), MTN (88), China Telecom (90), and Volkswagen (96).
The ranking which covers over 50,000 brands in over 30 countries takes into account what people think about the brands they buy alongside rigorous analysis of financial data, market valuations, analyst reports and risk profiles.
